We seek to create an environment where children can connect to Christ and discover the wonder and beauty of His world.
Selah Academy is downtown Harrisonburg’s new Preschool and Kindergarten for 4, 5, and 6-year-olds. We seek to guide students into vibrant learning through encouraging indoor and outdoor play, reading beautifully illustrated children’s literature to them, helping them prepare and eat food together, engaging them in music, art and Spanish language learning, and guiding them into unhurried, hands-on spiritual formation.
In short, Selah is Christ-centered, literature-focused, discovery-based, and Montessori-inspired.
Our name means “to pause” - which is what we want Selah to be! A pause from the chaos and hurry that can so easily surround us. We pray Selah will be a place of calm for students and parents alike who enter our doors.
Weekly rhythms at Selah Academy
We value individual and group play, language learning, participation in food prep and eating together, music, art, reading great stories aloud together, and Christian formation that engages the senses.
